Business Tip for-07/05/09
A few weeks ago I offered a daily tip in which I urged you to always have business cards, paper and a pen with you. Today, I would like to illustrate the actual importance of this.
Last night my family and I attended a fireworks event. In order to get a decent view, we had to arrive pretty early. While waiting, I struck up a conversation with a gentlemen standing next to me.
He and his wife were in from California for a visit. He works for a major company that uses the services that one of my other company’s (Powerfeedback) offers. Though he is not in the market research/business intelligence area of the firm, he graciously offered to pass my business card along to the right people.
Will any business come to fruition from this chance encounter? I don’t know, but I do know that my odds went up 100% by having business cards with me, engaging a “stranger” and making room for he and his wife next to us so that they too could lean on the railing.
